Awana Mid-Atlantic

Bible Quiz

T & T Bible Quiz

Bible Quizzing is the Scripture memory counterpart to the physical, game-oriented AwanaGames. Both use the element of competition as a motivating factor.

Bible Quizzing is open to young people in third through sixth grade. This event motivates students to increase their Bible knowledge while giving participants, leaders and even parents an intense exposure to Scripture. Bible Quizzing tests students’ knowledge of material in their handbooks and provides individual recognition and awards.

Awana programs in the same church as well as other Bible Quizzing stimulates Scripture memorization and review at every club and youth program level. It also motivates students to stay up-to-date in their handbooks. Young people memorize more verses, complete more handbooks and comprehend more Bible truths with the incentive of making their church’s Bible Quiz team and competing for honors at the regional level. As students spend more time preparing for Bible Quizzing, their parents also become exposed to the truths of God’s Word. Bible Quizzing also promotes fellowship between Awana-registered churches.

In the Awana Mid Atlantic three segments of questions are used.

  1. Quizzers begin with a written test which is given to each clubber participating. Questions are either true or false, multiple choice or matching.
  2. Multiple choice is a deliberate time of choosing a correct answer among three choices. The quiz master asks a question and then reads a list of possible answers in a multiple-choice format. Each quizzer has paddles with letters on them. The clubbers raise the appropriate paddle to display their answer.
  3. Speed quizzing is a tense, fast-action event which works well with all students. Questions used are open-ended. The first student to respond is given a chance to answer the question.
